I had been volunteering at St. Anthony’s since I was about 14 years old and knew that I wanted to go to nursing school.
St. Anthony’s has a very nurturing environment. Several of the people on my floor have been nurses for 30-plus years. What a luxury that is! They want us to be the best nurses we can be.
I believe it is a privilege to serve our patients – and I think patients can tell the difference. It’s all about attitude.
We try to give our patients the best possible care, not because it’s our job – but because it’s our choice, our privilege, to do so.
We go above and beyond because we really do want to make them feel better.
