Ten-year-old Ally Smithee, of south St. Louis County, prepares to cut a 12-foot long bandage at the dedication of the new Cardinal Glennon Pediatric Emergency Care at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, which opened to treat pediatric patients on Dec. 10.  Other area children, as well as some St. Anthony’s pediatricians and medical personnel, also were on hand for the ceremonial bandage cutting.

Eight-year-old Carson Daily of Oakville gets a close look at the veins in his hand as Deb Weingartner, R.N., demonstrates a VeinViewer in the new Cardinal Glennon Pediatric Emergency Care at St. Anthony’s.  The VeinViewer is a machine that allows caregivers to see a patient’s veins more clearly when starting an IV or drawing blood.
