Special Care Nursery (Specialized Newborn Care)
The
Special Care Nursery staff at St. Anthony's Medical Center
has the skill and technology to care for your newborn if
it has special needs after delivery.
St. Anthony's and SSM Cardinal Glennon
Children's Medical Center work together to provide around-the-clock
neonatal care. A neonatal nurse practitioner is on-site
at St. Anthony's 24 hours a day and neonatologists
from Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center care
for babies in the Special Care Nursery.
Neonatal Services
St. Anthony's offers a full range of neonatal intensive care services, including:
- delivery of high-risk infants
- premature babies
- newborn resuscitation
- specialized care for babies with respiratory problems requiring a ventilator
- complete nutritional support
- consultations with top-notch pediatricians
and pediatric cardiologists
